The "Giant Sea Monster" at Les SUBS and The Fine Arts University of Lyon ENSBA
According to Greek mythology, the Kraken is a sea monster depicted with a shape resembling a squid or octopus with large body size and arms. As the name implies, the Le Kraken installation is designed with a large body with a width of 25 meters, a height of 15 meters with tentacles of 180 meters. This ephemeral installation built on the grounds of the historic center esplanade, France has hosted Les SUBS and the fine arts university of Lyon ENSBA.
(Le Kraken installation perspective)
The wooden structure that makes up the body of this huge monster seems to crawl out of the sea and spread its tentacles over LES SUBS and ENSBA LYON. Its huge shape makes visitors get goosebumps when they see it. However, as it approaches it and begins to enter into its body, the feeling will slowly disappear and replace with a feeling of amazement with the wooden details that make up Le Kraken.

Designed by UV LAB with stunning details, from here visitors will be stunned by the wood-carved details that make up their entire body with a head covered with fiber allowing light to enter and exit freely. To amplify the spooky visuals like monsters coming out to land, UV LAB added a firing lamp that can emit a spooky aura at night with a dense dark light.
(Le Kraken was built with the aim of creating relationships between people of different ages)
Le Kraken's installation has three aspects, namely "living" with the visitor's approach to being able to touch and walk in his large body. Both "life" in which size and aesthetics play a role in bringing this Le Kraken installation to life. Finally, it is the "architectural integrity" that maintains its structure to stand tall with its large, curved shape.

It is built to activate the inclusion process to restore human activity through dialogue, play, and meetings. To facilitate that activity, UV LAB added wooden chairs and tables that were spread throughout the installation area. Complementing the facility, a small stage was placed inside the body of Le Kraken for a larger event.
