Concrete Building in the Middle of A Forest by Vector Architects
A hot spring building is located in the middle of the Wuling Mountain forest, north of Beijing. When viewed from the outside, the building resembles hot spring “equipment.” Vector Architects translated the design as a steaming hot spring in the middle of a dense natural forest, with eight chimneys arranged.

To avoid adverse natural impacts, the building is raised off the ground, supported by 10 columns driven into the ground. Vertically arranged into a tall slender tower, the building separates the service areas into different building masses that can be accessed via corridor bridges at each level.
The elevated building creates a view inside with large glass windows overlooking the surrounding forest which adds to the relaxed feel of the spa's relaxation space.
Vector Architects applied concrete walls that melt into the surrounding sheer cliffs using a bush-beating technique and a dark-colored transparent coating to give the concrete a calm and grounded appearance.
Light from the sky passes through the eight-meter-high well under which the bathing pool is located on the third floor so that this light provides calm and gentle energy. Through the strip windows above the water level on the west façade, visitors can have the option of immersing themselves in the water or looking at the surrounding cliffs with their overarching trees.
