Architect's Brutalist Style House on The Hill designed by Pedro Domingos Arquitectos

An architect's personal home is sometimes interpreted in a different way to their projects. Portugal-based Pedro Domingos Arquitectos interprets his personal home as a brutalist-style house that looks like 'an ancient ruin' on a hill near the village of Santa Bárbara de Nexe.
The house, named Frame House, features large openings that frame the beautiful surrounding landscape. The house is designed to blend into nature with large openings, terraces, four bedrooms, and a hilltop swimming pool.
To take advantage of the views of the surrounding landscape, most of the rooms are raised to the upper floors of the house, thus providing a free view of the surrounding nature. A large lounge opens up through a retractable glass door to a terrace sheltered by a concrete canopy, which descends to the swimming pool and is flanked by high walls.
The materials used in this building do not vary much. Exposed concrete is combined with white marble for the pool area, kitchen, and some steps, and black steel is used for the sleek window and door frames, which contrast with the exposed concrete that covers the rest of the house.
