Transforming Tens of Thousands of Used Cases into A Series of Artworks through Re/CASETiFY Program

July 20, 2024

Nowadays, mobile phones have become items that almost everyone owns, including the accessories, and phone cases being one of them. In the industry, CASETiFY is one of the largest brands of phone cases globally. Considering the high production, the company is trying to make their business more environmentally friendly by launching the Re/CASETiFY program, a movement for recycling used casings into various products, from new casings to art installations.

The program began with collecting case donations—which are not limited to CASETiFY only but also from all other brands—in their 40+ physical stores worldwide. The collected phone and bud cases are then separated into their respective materials, grounded into pellets, and mixed with other scraps and bio-plastic. Since it was first launched in 2021, more than 84,000 kg of plastic has been recycled. Apart from that, Re/CASETiFY has also succeeded in increasing the percentage of recycled materials used in all CASETiFY products to finally reach 100% in 2023.
