Sawo Coffee and Roastery Bandung by Oi Architects

Jalan Braga is one of the most famous roads in Bandung. This street is located in the city center, so it is not surprising that there are so many cafes lined up here. Sawo Coffee and Roastery is one of them. Although the place is not that big, this cafe is quite striking compared to the others.

In terms of location, this shop is squeezed by large block-shaped buildings whose facades are directly attached to the sidewalk. So, Oi Architects tried to present a different impression from other shops in the neighborhood. The goal is to beautify the tourist area but still modern.

If you look at it, the facade of the coffee shop is pushed back from the existing one which creates a large void so that pedestrians passing in front of this shop automatically turn their heads towards it. The clear glass of the building is used so that the interior is visible and gives the impression of a wider room.

When entering the building, visitors must pass through a dry indoor garden with trees and gravel as the entrance. This park impresses visitors by presenting a 'homey' atmosphere. So that visitors will feel more relaxed and refreshed.

Minimalist interior concept, dominated by white color which is complemented by wooden furniture. Bright warm light is used to give the impression of calm in the hearts of visitors. The wide tables are made so that customers are comfortable completing work or hanging out together.

The bar table blends with the wall color but remains a focal point because its size fits all minimalist supporting elements such as hanging bar lights, backdrop designs, and drop ceilings. All of these elements provide a refreshing and clean look that attracts people to stop by.

Overall, the interior design of this shop is made to impress customers with a homey atmosphere. The combination of white, wooden furniture, and dry garden is the perfect combination to make customers always feel comfortable here.
