Watching Movies in Saigon's Historical Building, Beta Cinema
Several historic buildings in Saigon have inspired Module K to design Beta Cinema, a cinema located in one of Ho Chi Minh city's shopping malls. Saigon, better known as Ho Chi Minh city, is the economic and cultural center in Vietnam which is filled with skyscrapers that stand side by side with historical buildings.

Module K explains that this cinema's design aims to honor the architectural landmarks of Saigon in the past. Therefore, the design of this cinema takes Saigon's iconic features by transforming the details of historic buildings typical of European buildings into minimalist geometric shapes. In addition, the team also avoided the neutral colors that are characteristic of historical buildings.

Not only that, But Module K also wants to avoid cinema imagery usually dominated by dark spaces. So, the team designed the interior of the art nouveau-style cinema with a touch of bright and bold colors. According to the team, the brightly colored funky space will attract young people to eat, drink, socialize, and watch movies at Beta Cinema.
This 2000-square-meter building is designed with an attractive and pleasant design aesthetic. This concept is realized through a flexible geometric design combined with cheerful colors, such as pink, tosca, blue, and green which are applied to all sides of the beta cinema interior.

When you first set foot at Beta Cinema, visitors will be greeted with a pink entrance. After passing through it, they will see a spacious central hall in the French colonial style inspired by the Ben Thanh market in Saigon. Next, visitors will be directed to book cinema tickets at the ticket counter adjacent to the entrance.
The ticket counter adjacent to the popcorn station is designed with curved booths in tosca color. After booking the tickets, the audience will walk into the lounge, which is the focal point in this area.

The waiting room is equipped with multi-story blue seating that is depicted as a sitting area in the Saigon Opera House theater room. Interestingly, a pink mezzanine waiting room is placed behind the theater seats with a circular bench and squares.

From here, visitors will walk through a rainbow tunnel with a curved canopy to get to the screening room. In this space, Module K surprises through the decoration of the space through the game of geometry and color.

The feeling of awe will continue to be present until the movie is finished playing, they will not believe that the location is the cinema. All the atmosphere is different, not with dark colors dominating but light colors commonly found in cafés. Beta Cinema has provided a new and fun experience for watching cinema movies.
