Installation with Kinetic Sculptures for the Hermes Watch Collection

January 4, 2024

A watch exhibition, "Watches & Wonder" 2023, was held in Geneva, Switzerland, with several of the world's leading watch brands, namely Rolex, Hublot, Hermes, and many more. All exhibition booths are designed to represent the image or persona of each brand. The Hermes booth attracts visitors with an installation themed "The Finesse of Time" by artist Clément Vieille. The white gate with the words "Hermes" acts as the entrance to the installation, which displays the latest Hermes watch products called H08..

When entering the booth area, visitors will be amazed by the shape of kinetic sculptures that are arranged dynamically at several points in space. The suspended undulating sculpture flows like a calm wave and moves through its kinetic mechanism inside the exhibition booth. The walls of this area are painted white, while the ceiling and floor are painted black to highlight the products on display. In addition, monochrome colors with slightly yellow lighting will give the impression of luxury.

Clément Vieille explores the properties of materials and the use of technology to achieve the shape he desires with precision and accuracy. The materials used are composite and woven carbon fiber plates that form the statue's frame. In addition, some of these sculptures were made mobile to liven up the installation space.

Some installation points are illuminated by spotlights to illuminate the sculptural form. In addition, this artificial lighting will reflect the statue's shape onto the wall, resulting in beautiful shadows.

The display of Hermes watch products is placed on a black curved stick hung from the ceiling. This form of display is very innovative and rarely found in other exhibitions. One display stick is used to display a watch that has characteristics that combine texture with minerality, deep patterns with colorful touches, and neat geometric lines.
