This residence, which is located in the city of Tangerang, has a unique building shape inspired by Indonesian rice granaries. K-Thengono strives to create a residence that combines contemporary design with the Indonesian vernacular building style by paying attention to the architectural context and climatic conditions.

Just like rice granaries, K-Thengono creates different qualities at each level. However, to accommodate the needs of today's lifestyle, architects use contemporary building technology and apply modern materials to the design of this residential house. The structure is built on 4 poles with ground floor plates raised to 2 meters above ground level to create a home shaped like a rice barn.

Air circulation and natural light can enter freely into the house through a combination of geometric shapes and a gambrel roof with a circular skylight in the middle. This residence has zoning that is tailored to the needs of residents on the ground floor and accommodates a carport, laundry space, maid room, warehouse, and wet kitchen. While on the first floor, it functions as a dining room, pantry, and open living room surrounded by terraces and vegetation. This living room mimics the openness of the pavilion of the rice barn allowing natural air to flow from all sides. In addition, the top floor has a role as a private area that can be accessed through the spiral staircase that is the center of this house. Through the sloping ceiling with windows directly facing the sky, residents can enjoy the beautiful sky view by relaxing.

Overall the exterior and interior are dominated by natural stone and wood combined with bright neutral colors creating a warm homey feel. The selection of furniture shapes that are simple but elegant with matching colors gives harmony to this residential building. The modernization of the traditional houses of rice granaries has been achieved through the application of modern methods of construction and selection of material materials.
