Everyone Can Play Basketball in Arbre
It may be unfamiliar to some people when they see the basketball hoop in the middle of the court, not on the right and left sides of the court as usual. But Arbre à basketball seems to be against the 'norm' that has become the essence of the existence of the basketball hoop. In addition to its unusual placement, the form of Abre à basketball also far deviated from the standard basketball hoop, which only had a single hole.

Designed by A/LTA Architects, Arbre à basketball offers a new way to interact and play basketball in public areas. The design borrows the shape of a tree, complete with branches.

Placed in the frontcourt of the Maison des Hommes et des Techniques in Nantes, France, the Arbre à basket is attractive through an iron structure that forms a tree arranged with different heights on each branch. These five branches of the tree serve to support five randomly placed basketball hoops. This design allows anyone to play basketball without worrying about height, from adults to children.

A/LTA Architects designed a ring for children as high as 1.50 meters, placed on the lowest branch. While in other branches, the team set the height of the ring with a size of 2.60 meters. Next, the basketball hoop for adults is set to 3.05 meters. Through its uniqueness, Arbre à basketball has attracted visitors of all ages to play basketball simultaneously.

The 'branched tree' and five basketball hoops were the main concentrations in the design of Arbre à basketball. This is because the five basketball hoops on the tree branch are intended to be able to reach anyone who wants to play basketball. So through its design and function, this public facility can attract anyone who wants to play basketball. In addition, the presence of Arbre à basketball gives new life to the game of basketball in the public space with innovative work from A / LTA Architects.
