KeRa Designed Brooklyn Barbershop with Dual Functions
There is an exciting blend of retail between barbershops and coffee shops at UG Manhattan Time Square, Medan. With very different activities, shaving your head and enjoying a glass of coffee with a limited area of 70 square meters, KeRa Design creates design innovations that can unite two different functions in one building. The store was later transformed into Brooklyn Barbershop and Chatswood Coffee.

The front of this store uses glass block material instead of conventional brick walls so that a modern and charming impression appears from the outside. The advantage of using this material is that it can pass light from the interior and beautify it because it has different motifs and can add aesthetic value. In addition, the glass block has a non-transparent appearance, so privacy in the space is maintained. When viewed from the outside, this store can be seen as brightly lit by the white light rays from the inside. Access to the store, visitors can go through a large glass door that can be swung.

In the Brooklyn Barbershop section, the interior is dominated by white and gray colors from several seats and the upper wall, in harmony with the exterior appearance that shows an elegant and clean impression. Lighting with white lights is maximized to create a continuously supportive sterile impression. Furthermore, spotlight lights are added for each barbershop chair, maximizing bright light for activities requiring precision. The division of areas in this store consists of a long table in the middle with 4 chairs for the barbershop and 4 minimalist chairs for functioning as a café. To separate the two different activities, the center of the table is insulated with transparent tempered glass. In addition, a bar table is attached to a glass block, and a bar stool is added as a means of seating visitors. In the middle, there is a space for coffee shop activities through a bar table equipped with coffee brewing equipment so visitors can order coffee while enjoying the atmosphere.

Space for Coffeeshop
The use of furniture in this store is made multi-function, considering the condition of the area that is not large, such as on chairs that can be inserted under the table, to maximize the narrow area but can maximize its function. This chair innovation is carried out to accommodate two different activities in one space. Furthermore, the seats provided are distinguished according to their respective functions but still pay attention to the comfort of visitors.
Hidden Chair for Space Saving
Despite applying a white and gray color palette, KeRa Design still gives a touch of plant green in its design, giving it a natural impression and other colors in this monochrome space. Additionally, three indoor plants are placed on a long table that offers fresh air and different colors to a closed room. Overall, the layout implemented by KeRa Design looks simple, with the furniture arrangement in line. However, this design is suitable for completing the client's request to combine two commercial activities in one space into an artful blend.
