Installations for an Exhibition of Nature Photos of the River Danube
January 5, 2024

The Danube River is located in Esztergom, Hungary, about 46 kilometers from the capital, Budapest. The beauty of this river can be enjoyed during the day with views of classic European buildings and at night with sparkling city lights. For this reason, the Hungarian Suzuki Company asked Paradigma Ariadne to design an outdoor installation for a photo exhibition of the nature of the Danube River in the city of Esztergom.

This installation is named Lying Red Pyramid because it resembles a pyramid triangle. Then the outer structure is made of reddish wood material with highlighted fibers. The exhibition hall, built in a park by the Danube River, uses a partially closed, partly open system and can accommodate photo prints. Visitors can enter the inner room from below. With the designed shape, Ariadne's paradigm will cause curiosity for passers-by around the area, so they finally choose to stop for a moment and find out what is on display.

The Lying Red Pyramid attracts people walking around the park as it exhibits 12 photographs of Attila Gulyás' Danube nature printed on Plexiglass opaque plastic sheets that become sparkling from sunlight during the day. The photos implicitly tell the fascinating natural life of the Danube. Visitors can view these photo works from both inside and outside the installation.

This exhibition is not only to appreciate photographic artworks but also as a tourist attraction because it displays several objects of natural beauty that can be visited. The photos are also an invitation to preserve the environment in Hungary. Because of its strategic location, more visitors are expected to come to the installation.

In the night, the Lying Red Pyramid glows through the park's darkness and faces directly over the Danube River. The installation starts working at night in reverse, and reflectors inside, the image comes to in real from the outside.
