Hong Kong is one the countries known for its impressive skyscrapers and modern buildings. But, besides tower buildings in this country, many public areas offer beauty and peace in this busy country. One of them is the Central and Western District Promenade, a public space in Hong Kong that presents stunning views of the high-rise buildings and waters of Sai Wan.

How important it is to enjoy the stunning natural beauty in a crowded public area, New Office then took the initiative to build an installation known as the "Water Capsule Submarine." This is an installation that highlights the relationship between land and water.

The Water Capsule Submarine built in the Central and Western District Promenade aims to remind people of the importance of the precious value of water to the city. From his vision, the New Office designed the Water Capsule Submarine by borrowing the shape of a single dewdrop that emerged from a lush green lawn.

The Circular Water Capsule Submarine installation with a slightly pointed box tip represents the tip of the water droplet. To maximize the visual shape of the water droplets, New Office applied a bright blue color that depicts the clarity of Sai Wan's water.

New Office designed the Water Capsule Submarine using double inflatable skin material. According to the team, the double inflatable skin material has the advantages of being waterproof, elastic, and lightweight. Because of this nature, the team thinks that the inflatable skin material can form large-scale water droplet bubbles, so the design shape of this installation can be under the initial design drawing plan.

Water Capsule Submarine offers an experience like being inside a submarine and exploring the ocean. Uniquely, visitors are directed to pass through the contemporary box room and enter a small tunnel. After passing through the small tunnel, they will be shocked to see that they are in a large-scale water bubble. In this area, water droplets capture the city's skyline, filtering the surrounding landscape through the texture of water waves.

Light also plays an essential role in this installation to perfect its aesthetics. During the day, the curved sheath of the double inflatable skin can penetrate and reflect its light, giving a wave texture to the surrounding grass beds. Meanwhile, these water droplets light up at night as if reminding visitors of the importance of the value of water for life.
