Imagination Through the Concept of a Psychedelic Interior in Wine Nuts
Wine Nuts, a wine shop in Chongqing City, China, is an attractive shop designed by WT Architects. As the name implies, the 180-square-meter building sells a wide variety of wines, one of which is wine nuts (wine mixed with savory nuts) which are the prima donna products in this store. In designing Wine Nuts, WT Architects believes in 3 keywords in realizing the design of this store: process, brand identity, and naturalness.

When you first step into Wine Nuts, visitors will see the iconic identity of the store through a façade featuring Stonehenge. A huge boulder is 2.3 meters high and 5 meters long. In the past, Stonehenge was used to track times and seasons, better known as the time calendar. As a façade, Stonehenge is considered capable of representing the alternation of time that generates a correlation between space and time.

However, at night the façade displays the shape of the moon with a dramatic yellow glow that constantly changes its shape, ranging from the full moon to the crescent moon. WT Architects deliberately designed this element to describe the long cycle of wine production. It starts from naturally growing grapes to becoming a bottle of wine.

Going into the inner area, WT Architect designed the interior of Wine Nuts with a touch of psychedelic – a design term that carries the illusion of hallucinations. Inside Wine Nuts, visitors are invited to immerse their souls to achieve the desired peace. To gain this experience, WT Architect deliberately arranged blue light with a visual like a door that brought visitors into the hallucination room while enjoying wine.

Overall the interior of Wine Nuts is designed with the illusion of beautiful hallucinations. The texture applied does not focus on one soft or rough material. All this symbolizes a nut with rough and hard skin and mild wine. Wine Nuts is designed to celebrate a procession of drinking natural wines inside a beautiful hallucinatory chamber.
