The universe has been one of the biggest inspirations for the architecture and design studio, Seniman Ruang, in designing a dessert and drink shop. Therefore, this café is named This Earth, which is indeed an analogy to the representation of the universe. The first branch of This Earth located in Mal Kelapa Gading, Jakarta, Indonesia, adopts a contemporary design approach influenced by nature to mimic the beauty of our earth.

"The design is an appreciation of the design inspired by experimental nature showing how our mother nature can bring joy and charm to the dwelling and bring awareness so that we can better care for our environment," Seniman Ruang said.

In the 71-square-meter space, Seniman Ruang offers an experience for guests to eat dessert and drink in the pod tower area with curved chairs at each level. This pod tower was built by adopting the distinctive shape of the swallow's nest. To realize the design, Seniman Ruang built a pod tower with an interlocking iron structure as a form of a natural bird's nest shape. This curved structure not only serves to add aesthetic value to the space but is also arranged so that it can withstand the load. The design of this pod tower is a genius idea for Seniman Ruang in maximizing the limited space capacity.

Not only did the existence of the pod tower instantly attract attention, but Seniman Ruang also specially designed the furniture with visuals as if it had several layers that depicted the abstraction of the melting chunks of ice. The furniture is enhanced by warm white luminous LED lights that further warm the interior of This Earth.

To present a more complex element of nature, Seniman Ruang forms a ceiling with many layers as an interpretation of the physical form of glaciers in the world. The furniture composition and the room's details are even slicker when the Tumblr glass display shelf displayed behind it is designed using acrylic and arranged with a zigzag shape so that it can depict the ice break phenomenon.

This Earth 1.0 interior design is a reminder and celebration of what was formed and comes from the earth wrapped through the collaboration of products and identities from the dessert and drink shop, This Earth.
