NADAAA has designed a 445-square-meter luxury restaurant and bar known as BANQ. The design concept of this restaurant and bar, NADAAA creates a functional space wrapped in warmth and artistic touches. The concept realizes in a space that presents a spatial experience between warmth and togetherness through decorative elements applied to the ceiling and floor.

Although it is inside the old penny savings bank of Boston building, the design of BANQ Restaurant and Bar is far from "old." Because NADAAA designed these restaurants and bars using space-decorating elements such as plywood to achieve the ideal of "togetherness in warmth."

Developing a birch plywood system is the designer's goal. The birch plywood system uses because it can hide the original building structure from this old building to create a fresher feel. As a result, piles of plywood curved canopies extending from the roof to the floor can forget visitors that they are in an old building.

The presence of this curved wooden slat canopy is the highlight of the attractive design of the BANQ restaurant and bar. The reason is that the rhythm of the waves that adorn the entire restaurant and bar area can "trick" visitors and deliver them to a dining experience full of warmth. Another peculiarity is that NADAAA places the wine storage shed in the center of the space, simultaneously serving as a supporting point for the structure on the ceiling.

According to NADAAA, the plywood canopy on the interiors of these restaurants and bars can produce different viewpoints. It depends on how one perceives it. If viewed in a straight line, this canopy will have the effect of being an arched frame decorating the space, while when viewed from the lateral direction of this canopy will provide clues about the structural and mechanical devices that hide.

This project divides into two segments. The front area facing Washington street is programmed for the bar, while the enormous hall at the back functions as a shared dining area.

Under the ceiling, the functional aspects of the dining room with wooden and bamboo furniture further strengthen the warm atmosphere of the space. Overall, BANQ restaurants and bars' interiors are designed to create a warm effect that drowns diners in wooden sheds.
