A Unique Experience of Skateboarding Inside A Store
In collaboration with architect Neil Logan, interior studios Brinkworth, and the Wilson Brothers designed a store with an indoor skate arena for the clothing brand Supreme in Los Angeles. This 790-square-meter building combines retail functions with skateboarding facilities to attract the visitor with the distinctive installation and enhance the Supreme store’s identity in Los Angeles.

Upon entering the store, visitors will be drawn to a concave wooden skate bowl shaped like a cloverleaf with three different depths and a pale surface framed in a darker color. Without any supporting columns, the skate bowl hangs on the deck structure, floating above the store ground floor. Following the skate bowl design which needs a lot more space on the upper level, the ceiling is elevated to provide ample space for the skateboarders to play in this area.

Not only that, the designer also placed a full-size F1 car by Mark Gonzales parked in the middle of the room to add the uniqueness inside the store. Behind it is an area to display accessories products such as hats and shoes while the right and left sides are clothes racks and product displays. The skateboarding products are arranged on colorful displays on one side of the wall.

Another uniqueness of this store is the contrast paintings on the walls which is in line with the clothing products that hang on the walls. With the basic colors of the pure white walls and exposed ceilings, the store strives to accentuate further the products they display. The ceiling uses a steel frame construction, opening the space with skylights for a bright interior with natural light. With these unique design features, this Supreme store offers a spacious shopping place where visitors can wander around freely throughout the store and taste a unique experience of skateboarding inside a store.
