Rock Cabin, a seamless integration between materiality and society
The city's development, which is currently increasingly dense, has succeeded in changing the village's population to shrink with few job opportunities. The development of tourism in rural and suburban areas, attracting visitors, creating jobs for local communities, and improving the local economy can be key to solving this problem.

Rock Cabin is a development of Hello Wood, creating the Hello Wood international summer school and festival in Balaton Uplands, Hungary. Assuming a new role as an "archi-entrepreneur," i.e., a combination of an architect and a real estate developer, Hello Wood partnered with TreeHouses, the creator of 6 unique cabins and reception buildings.

Hello, Wood's design team designed the area like an ancient settlement surrounded by farmland and one with nature. With the monolithic character of the cabin opening only on the porch and entrance makes a homogeneous shape that is clean and undisturbed by any windows, doors, or stairs. Irregular planes and knots define a shape resembling polished stone, which is more characteristic of gray wood panels. In contrast to the gray shell, golden-brown wood is used from the terrace and interior like the inside of the cracked geode.

Rock Cabin provides a comfortable and quiet space for two people, with the 36-square-meter cabin having a living room with beds, kitchen furniture, wardrobe and dining table, bathroom, and infrared sauna. There is also a hot tub on the spacious and enclosed terrace, separated only by a glass window from the sauna with direct access to the shower. To ensure an intimate and carefree experience, the cabins are positioned opposite each other, overlooking the surrounding fields and hills. Hello Wood designed Rock Cabins with a 3D polygonal-like shape to allow air circulation and natural lighting to be utilized to the fullest.

While building this project, Hallo Wood prefabricated the wall panels and building structures outside the project site, arguing that it was an effort to streamline the work time. Hello Wood believes that its Rocks can be an architectural landmark capable of attracting visitors to the Kapolcs area in all seasons.
