Consisting of five bamboo arches roofs, Lumi Shala serves as a wellness space at the Alchemy Yoga Center, Bali. This bamboo structure flourished at its site through its natural material built with an artisanal and innovative system that perfectly balances the structure and its natural surroundings.

The five bamboo arched roofs are positioned on boulders, creating a curved and spacious room that measures 21m wide, 23m long, and 9m tall. This provides a sense of comfort and enclosure for yoga practice. All five grid-shell roof petals are arranged strategically to provide a unique gradient of natural light and flood the interior with proper illumination.

The design of Lumi Shala is a unique masterpiece, featuring prescriptively curved and meticulously detailed bundled bamboo arches tied together with structural anticlastic grid shells. The deep trusses between the gaps of the five overlapping roof surfaces are angled artfully, creating an interior that mirrors the human form, both grounding and extending. The overlapping roof surfaces allow natural light to flood the interior, providing ample illumination for a calming and serene practice.

The interior of Lumi Shala is not just functional, but also aesthetically pleasing. The exposed bamboo structure on the ceiling creates a harmonious interplay of bamboo that is intricate and breathtaking. The earthy tones on the walls and floor add to the natural ambiance of the space, creating a cool and inviting atmosphere. The shiny surface on the roofs adds more aesthetic value to the structure, reflecting its beautiful bamboo structure and making it a visual treat for the senses.
