The competition-winning project of Melike Altınışık Architects-MAA, RAIM or Seoul Robot & AI Museum, attracts the world’s eyes with its distinctive shape like an egg. Located in Seoul, South Korea, RAIM is a specialized science museum and a core cultural facility that will serve as a base for the 4th industrial revolution in the northeast region where entrepreneurship, job, housing, culture, and commercial functions are harmonized. It is expected to inspire new vitality in the region as a science and culture network that connects researchers of nearby universities, research institutes, corporations, and citizens.

RAIM’s design concept focuses on enhancing an exceptional architectural language with smart design and smart building methodologies. The result is a fluid and organic form that presents a unique space inside the building, creating a universe dedicated to robots and visitors of this museum. Its fluid and organic form serves several purposes including incorporating the public space into the interior, organizing pedestrian and vehicle movement, and creating in-between spaces while ensuring continuity and interaction on every level of space.

“The new Robot & AI Museum (RAIM) which plays a catalytic role in advancing and promoting science, technology, and innovation throughout society, is going to be an experience space that can allow people to interact with robotic technologies. RAIM is not only going to exhibit robots but actually from design, manufacturing, and construction to services smart technologies will be in charge. In other words, RAIM will start its ‘first exhibition’ with its own smart design and smart construction methodologies on site.” described the design principal Melike Altınışık.
