Journey Of IDIN Architects: Diverse & Nurtured
Headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand, Integrating Design Into Nature or better known as IDIN Architects has now entered its 20th year since it was first founded by Jaravej Hongsakul in 2004. In Thai itself, "idin" is used to describe a natural phenomenon when the soil emits a distinctive fragrant aroma after rain. This indirectly describes Thailand itself which has a tropical climate, which symbolizes something that is responded to and becomes a reference in all IDIN Architects designs. The emphasis of the design displayed is not only on its aesthetics, but also on the practical value to suit this tropical climate environment.
Interpreting 'nature' in two ways. First, nature is translated as the ecology that is around us. Second, nature refers to various kinds of behavior and personality. Since its founding until now, it has held fast to the philosophy and design attention to combine the sense of the surrounding environment, nature with aesthetics in architecture. The combination of these three things is done through a process of analysis and determination of priorities from the various needs and requirements of each project.

Jaravej Hongsakul as the principal founder of IDIN Architects successfully obtained a Bachelor of Architecture degree from King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang in 1998 and began practicing in the field of architecture itself since 2000, focusing on hospitality architecture, residential architecture and offices. Through its project 'Phuket Gateway', the name IDIN Architects became increasingly well-known in the field of Thai architecture, because in 2010 IDIN successfully received the ASA architectural design award. Since then, more and more projects from IDIN Architects have been respected and appreciated with various awards both at the national and international levels including the ASA Architectural Design Awards in Thailand, The Plan Award, Architizer A+ Awards, American Architecture Prize and many more.
