Lab Tower: A New Icon for The City of Nicosia by Eraclis Papachristou

Recently, Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus, has been transformed. Nicosia is an ancient city with a strong historical footprint that is now stepping into the future through the presence of tall buildings. The city's expansion project has led to an increase in the density of the built environment and urban life quality. Tourism and education are thriving, attracting tourists through its unique architecture, and a blend of French and Venetian gothic styles.

One of the new icons is the Lab Tower, a 90-meter tall mix-used building that stands majestically in the city center. Located in the business and social district, Lab Tower offers a bird's eye view of the city. Built in 2020, this building was designed by Eraclis Papachristou, a Cypriot architect who managed to realize a classic feel in modern architecture. Interesting, isn't it?

Lab Tower has a total area of 13,300 m² and is designed as a landmark that emphasizes structural strength and aesthetics. The building’s facade is fully glazed with glass, giving a sense of transparency. However, what steals the show is the exposed concrete columns. These columns are not only as structure support but also as the main visual element, with geometric shapes such as V, inverted V, X, and Y. Inside, Lab Tower accommodates a variety of needs. As a headquarter for an international IT company, this building provides modern workspaces, meeting rooms, open areas, and recreational facilities such as gyms and cafes. The other 18 floors accommodate luxury apartments designed like a five-star hotel. Ranging from studios to penthouses, each interior unit blends classic with neo-brutalist styles, creating an elegant and bold atmosphere.

Materials such as concrete, bronze, wood, and travertine are carefully selected, creating a harmony that blends comfort with soft color tones. This is not just another apartment.
