Yuni Jie: Inspiring Female Interior Designer From Indonesia
Who does not know Yuni Jie as an interior designer in Indonesia? Starting her career in the world of interior design after completing her studies with a Cum-Laude Bachelor of Fine Arts predicate from Cornish College of the Arts, Seattle, United States, in 1999. The woman, born in June 1977 in Jakarta, had worked at the interior design firm Collins and DiMarco Architecture + Design and continued her education by obtaining a Master of Industrial Design degree with the Honor of Excellence predicate from Pratt Institute, New York.

Various works have been exhibited at prestigious events such as the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York, Yuni Jie's work was once one of the works featured in the book New Talent Design Annual 1999 published by Graphis Inc and Eva Zeisel on Design published by Overlook Press. Experienced in handling various interior projects, including home, office, restaurant, and apartment interiors, many of her designs have been published in various leading media in Indonesia. In 2005, one of her designs was included in the best interior design choices of Skala+ magazine. In addition, she was once a finalist in the International Young Creative Entrepreneur Of The Year award, held by the British Council. Selected as a Style Icon and displayed on the Achievement wall by Elle Decoration Indonesia. Currently, Yuni Jie and her husband live in Jakarta.

Having another talent in writing, Yuni Jie is quite productive in writing and producing works in book form including in 2006 entitled Yuni Jie on Modern Interior Design, a year later in 2007 entitled Simply Simple and At Home, then in 2009 entitled Contemporary Urban Living and in 2014 entitled The Art of Casual Elegance. Over the years, various electronic and print media have published her works and success as an interior designer, such as newspapers or magazines Elle Decor, Kompas, Indonesia Tatler Homes, Bisnis Indonesia, Jakarta Post, and many more.

Yuni Jie is certainly familiar as a highly recognized Indonesian interior and product designer, through casual and elegant designs. Having her own interior design firm called Jie Design. Famous for its timeless design philosophy with an approach to design beyond just the latest trends and styles. Jie Design offers a comprehensive range of creative services, from interior design to furniture. Many collaborate with local Indonesian manufacturers to produce various exclusive furniture collections. Currently, Yuni Jie is also part of 11 other Interior Designers called ID12 (12 Indonesian Interior Designers), including Agam Riadi, Anita Boentarman, Ary Juwono, Eko Priharseno, Joke Roos, Prasetio Budhi, Reza Wahyudi, Roland Adam, Shirley Gouw, Vivianne Faye, and Sammy Hendramianto S. Who routinely hold The Colours of Indonesia exhibition every two years to bring the world of domestic design to a higher level by presenting it elegantly with international standards.

Adhering to the motto "Stay Inspired" and practicing "The Art of Casual Elegance" in all aspects of her life, both in the works featured in her books, her furniture and other product designs, to her daily fashion style. An energetic and passionate person who has started several side projects, namely "Ministry of Yummy" and "The Way Jie Sees" which showcases her paintings during the pandemic.

For her, success is doing what she loves with all her heart. With the various successes and fame she has, Yuni Jie is not satisfied, her concern for children is quite high, she wants to be more useful, realized by establishing a charity organization that focuses on empowering underprivileged children to be able to get an education, the organization is called One Fine Sky.
