Stilt Studios, the creators of the successful prefabricated wooden house in Buduk, Bali, present the latest prototype in their wooden building series - the Wooden Treehouse C. Situated in the beautiful Bukit Sari housing community in Penestanaan, a village outside Ubud, Bali, Indonesia, this cozy treehouse is surrounded by lush rice fields and is in close proximity to many restaurants and bars. Architects sought to combine innovative prefab structures with a minimized footprint, maintaining a harmonious coexistence with nature.

The Wooden Treehouse C follows the same structural principle as the previous wooden projects, consisting of 4 vertical columns supported by stairs. Sturdy steel cables run through the core elements and support the building's ceiling and floor planes. The structure allows the planes to create a streamlined facade with thin window frames and panels that can carry their weight.

Unlike the previous treehouse project in Buduk, Treehouse C in Ubud has several distinct spaces, including a kitchen, spacious living room, and bedroom sitting area. This unit can accommodate 2 to 4 people in an area of 64 m2. The building's shape is supported by large windows on all sides, providing users with an optimal view of Mount Agung.

True Nature Nusantara designed the outdoor garden of Wood Treehouse C, using permaculture design principles to create edible landscapes. The garden is full of flowers, tropical ornamental plants, edible fruits, and spices, and features a small pond in one corner. Bodhi Denton, the director, said the garden aims to create a dreamy and wild labyrinth consisting of low-maintenance and colorful perennial plants and trees. This provides users with hidden-away places to sit and enjoy the view of the adjacent rice fields.
