The intense heat in this city inspired the architect to build a sanctuary with a passive cooling system. Every inch of the house has been strategically designed to create a cool living space despite the intense heat outside. The essential rooms are flanked on each side with two courtyards to invite cooling fresh air to flood the interior. Several carefully positioned windows become the supporting entrance for air to flow inside and help minimize the extensive sunlight that reflects on the exterior.

The external walls are also designed in thick to help beat the intense heat and maintain a consistently comfortable temperature. Several special features were added to help cool the inside. A shallow waterbody in one courtyard and strategically perforated decorative elements make sure that the wind enters the house and is cooled before circulating through the space. Meanwhile, trees in the other courtyard not only provide shade but also enhance the internal space which then creates a natural oasis inside the house.
