Casa Zilin: A Celestial Sanctuary in the Desert Landscape

Casa Zilin which was designed by visionary architect Gabriela Carillo in collaboration with Israel Ispin, offers a two-story space for immersing each inhabitant in a breathtaking landscape of a desert. It is situated on the rough terrain of Baja California which creates a harmonious connection with its surroundings.

This multifunctional space is great for reading, working, and relaxing. it fits in well with the surroundings and has two walls that blend into the landscape. this creates an open space and blurs the line between the interior and exterior.

An observatory is set atop Casa Zilin to invite the inhabitants to gaze upon the night sky. It also offers a quiet place to sit and enjoy the natural panorama of the desert. With two side courtyards connecting the space, the wind breezes throughout the space and lets the natural light flood the whole interior space. The rooftop swimming pool offers a panoramic view of the surrounding terrain while the veiled windows trace the contours of the mountains and capture every inch of the terrain.
