Exploring the Enchanting Beauty of KINTO Pop-up Space

As part of a collaboration between a Japanese tableware and coffee maker, KINTO and a local architecture studio in Thailand, Sher Maker, this pop-up space pleases the visitors through its design. It presents the beauty of KINTO's products inside an Asian plywood clad temporary structure with distinctive spatial experiences.

Unlike the common indoor pop-up space, KINTO is located in an outdoor area at a community mall in a residential area, The Circle Ratchaphruek in Bangkok. Without eliminating the site’s identity as a community center, KINTO is designed with a dynamic layout filled with multifunction elements on the wall that function as the seating and gathering area while also serving as a brand’s products exhibition.

The space is designed in a dynamic layout following the existing trees at the site, creating long and meandering lanes that present distinctive experiences on every corner. The carved out wall creates various sizes of openings which blur the interaction’s boundaries between the inside and the outside. Those openings are designed in the same height as the bench to accommodate the seating area where the visitors can enjoy the beauty of this structure while having conversation with families or friends. The open ceiling let the sunlight through and flood the lanes with its bright light, creating a unique lighting performance.

KINTO’s products are arranged perfectly on every corner, exuding their beauty under the sunlight that comes through the ceilings. Asian plywood that covers the inside room blends harmoniously with the sunlight, presenting the beautiful interplay of various colors, aligned with the tree stem's natural brown color. With its white exterior, KINTO attracts  the visitors with its bright and striking color.
