January 5, 2024

A showroom in Brera, designed by Studio Nendo, is used for an Italian marble manufacturer, Marsotto. Located in the basement, the showroom is accessible through a white marble door whose presence is camouflaged. This front door is made flat from marble tiles and sheathes the entire front. Uniquely, one side of the door is made concave so that it can be occupied by passing pedestrians.

When visitors enter this showroom, visitors will be taken in through a staircase with a hollow marble partition of 10 mm, which is made semi-transparent and lightweight to attract visitors to the underground exhibition hall. When entering the exhibition hall, shades of white color of marble material filled this room. The floors and walls mostly use white marble material to show the characteristics of the material that is strong and luxurious. While on the ceiling, it is painted white with a dynamic shape in the form of arches that are not monotonous. This exhibition hall is divided into four spaces of varying sizes.

Marble is one of the materials with strong and special characteristics because it will give a luxurious impression if applied to interior design. In addition, another visually visible advantage is that marble has a texture and pattern that is different from other materials. The use of marble is not only on the floor and walls, as in this showroom. A corner that is half-beam-like a stage displays several tables made of marble. Even some other products are also displayed in various forms. Each display room has backlights and spotlights to focus the view on the marble products.

Other rooms have areas such as kitchens and long-shaped dining tables that can be used for lunch meetings. This room is a showroom and a space to serve dishes during the event. The left side wall is equipped with modular shelves mounted on the wall. The shelf is a place to arrange kitchen items made of marble.

This showroom, hopefully, can make visitors aware that marble material can be flexible and not rigid. Despite the material's strong and sturdy nature, marble's visual appearance is very luxurious and elegant.
