Blue-Filled Brando Ice Cream Shop in Madrid, Spain
Located in the historic city center of Madrid, Spain, the Brando ice cream shop is particularly appealing to the surrounding community passing through the streets of Calle De Hortaleza 55. The shop's three large windows are painted in a prominent blue color representing the interior. Applying the blue color chosen by the Brando brand will provide a different visual perception for each visitor. SOLAR, a Madrid-based architectural firm, designed this place to provide a different atmospheric experience for an ice cream shop.
Three Large Windows in Blue as Brando's Identity
When entering a completely blue tavern starting from the floor, walls, ceiling, and all elements of space. The only decoration that is not blue, a large sun-like circular lamp, is installed behind the sales area. Approaching the display table that presents many variants of flavors and colors of ice cream, visitors will need clarification to choose the taste of ice cream to buy. Various variants of ice cream are displayed on a table whose top serves as an ice cooler, and the bottom is covered with polyurethane foam resembling exposed cement painted gray to make it look harmonious with the surrounding exposed walls.

Buyers Choose the Type of Ice Cream on the Display
A pole in the shop's interior is retained with the existing walls and ceiling exposed to save a limited budget and time from renovating the building. On the other hand, tables and bar stools face the windows to connect the inner area and the scenery outside. The placement of bar tables and chairs is separated by large columns that still leave a brick shape but are repainted in blue. The customers can enjoy ice cream while looking at the condition of the city outside the tavern through this large window.
The Dine-in Area Faces the Street in Front of it
This shop is simply designed by applying only one color tone, furniture that suits the needs, and a centralized space circulation in the area for product sales. Even so, SOLAR still tries to display the visual character of Brando ice cream shops with an image that sticks to the memories of its customers.
