The Richness of Indonesian Arts and Culture at the Sudamala Suites & Villas Lombok
When talking about the natural beauty of Indonesia, there's no words to end it. Moreover, the geographical condition of Indonesia, which is in the form of an archipelago, makes this country have a diversity of arts and culture. Therefore, Sudamala Resorts, a boutique resort company in Indonesia, built Sudamala Suites & Villas inspired by the richness of Indonesian art and culture designed by ESA International with the vision of promoting the richness of art and culture to the world through the experiences presented at this resort.
Sudamala Suites & Villas is inspired by Indonesia's rich art and culture
Located in eastern Indonesia, which is rich in natural resource potential, Lombok is one of the most frequent trade routes for traders and seafarers from Sulawesi. Therefore, many tribes from Sulawesi settled and developed in this area. Their presence more or less enriched the local indigenous culture and gave birth to a new culture in Lombok. In addition to its cultural wealth, its strategic location for tourism potential in the West and East Nusa Tenggara region makes Lombok become one of the international destinations frequented by local and foreign tourists. So, Sudamala Resort had a goal to build an authentic resort by presenting local wisdom through art and culture from Lombok.
Sudamala Suites & Villas is an authentic resort featuring local art and culture
One of the most striking Lombok cultural influences at Sudamala Suites & Villas can be seen through the combination of the original village style with the thatched roof that looks unique and dramatic. ESA International tries to present the unique arts and culture of Nusa Tenggara through a concept featuring traditional building techniques, the use of local materials, authentic art, and decorative details from local natural crafts. In addition, this resort is designed with a classic architectural style approach typical of the local area. So the materials and ornaments used in the structure and decoration of this resort are mostly local productions.

In addition to rooms with classic luxury designs, this resort has several facilities such as; four spa rooms, a spa pool, a fitness center, and an oceanfront pool. Sudamala Suites & Villas is located on the beachfront, making this commercial building overlook the stunning ocean views. The suites and other supporting rooms are deliberately placed facing the sea and not behind it. This is a way to appreciate the local culture and respect the beauty of the island, as well as assist environmental conservation efforts by allowing native trees that have existed before.

In collaboration with ESA International, Sudamala Resorts put forward its vision to introduce the cultural heritage to the world through the Sudamala Suites & Villa Lombok project.
“We are very pleased to be working with ESA International again to build Sudamala Suites & Villas in Lombok. This is a unique resort that represents the charm and beauty of nature. We also want to introduce international hospitality to Lombok while promoting the region's rich cultural heritage,” said Emily Subrata, Director of Sudamala Resorts.
Based in Bali, ESA International has been trusted in various projects like some of the typical hotels and resorts in the archipelago. Through a previous project that is still in collaboration with Sudamala Resorts, ESA International successfully received the IAI Bali Award in 2016 for the design of Sudamala Suites & Villas Sanur, Bali.
